There are many ways that you can get involved with our organization! From becoming a member to contributing content for our blog to attending our events, we would love to have your participation!

We have meetings every other week in the Student Activity Center room 3.116! All students are welcome, and we take new members throughout the semester. Please feel free to attend our meetings; we love seeing new faces!

Contribute to this blog!

This blog is dedicated to student experiences with disability, and we need your help. Do you have any stories you want to share with the world? Send them! We are looking for all forms of content including articles, pictures, videos, artwork, and anything else you can come up with! Some possible ideas for articles include:
  • how you do _____ with _____ disability
  • funny moments because of your disability (let's be real, we all have them!)
  • What you would like people to know about your disability
  • an FAQ about your disability
  • highs and lows
  • anything else you would like to write about (preferably disability related!)
If you are already writing a blog or hosting a YouTube channel or whatever platform you prefer, we would love to post some of your content as a guest contributor to our blog! Please send any questions, ideas, or contributions to our email address dascatut@gmail.com

Dinner in the Dark

It was a crisp October evening on the University of Texas at Austin campus. We were in an elegant ballroom waiting for things to get started. The guests, mostly college students sitting at round tables, were whispering to each other and poking at their dinner. Us panelists were at a table in the front awkwardly poking at our own food before a crowd while we prepared to address our very own captive audience. This might sound like just another student driven activity on the vibrant 40 acres, where a diverse range of such activities are encouraged and supported. On this website, we aim to post content about student experiences, relevant topics in disability, and stories from our members and contributors.
